I don’t often write newsletters specifically for readers beyond the US. Instead, I hope non-US readers (and US citizens living elsewhere) might learn from how Christian Nationalist theocrats are destroying America.
This article in today’s EU version of Politico compelled me to pen an EU-centric extra newsletter:
To read the entire article, GO HERE.
The Heritage Foundation, controlled by the Opus Dei Catholic cult, is determined to conquer the world for its version of Christian Nationalism. They authored Project 2025, a Christo-fascist manifesto to transform the United States from a democracy into a Christian Nationalist theocracy.
Now they are on the ground in Europe, helping far-right parties organize and coordinate to win elections, capture governments, and Make Europe Great Again (MEGA.)
According to the POLITICO article, they already have working relationships with these far-right parties:
-
Brothers of Italy (Italy; Georgia Meloni)
-
Rassemblement National (France; Marine Le Pen)
-
AfD (Germany)
-
Vox and SALF (Spain)
-
Fidesz (Hungary; Viktor Orbán, who worked with Heritage on Project 2025)
-
SPD (Czech Republic)
-
Confederation Party (Poland)
European readers, want to know how the US got to the brink of Christian Nationalist theocracy? In part, by listening to “experts” like this:
Some observers are doubtful this renewed push will go differently. “I’m skeptical that it will amount to much,” said EJ Fagan, an associate politics professor at the University of Illinois and author of The Thinkers, a book on partisan think tanks. “The European right have their own resources that produce policies, so there’s not a lot Heritage can provide to European parties.” (SOURCE: Politico EU)
Millions of Americans are STILL saying, “Project 2025 isn’t happening. They won’t really do THAT. Republicans will never go THAT far.”
Christian Nationalists LOVE it when people say such things. It means fewer people try to obstruct their agenda. Working with groups like the Heritage Foundation and Alliance Defending Freedom, they are cementing theocracy in the US while spreading their cancer to every EU far-right party they can. (I wrote about Alliance Defending Freedom’s international work last week.) Their goal is to destroy the EU alliance.
If you live in Europe, here are a few things YOU can do to keep from becoming another Hungary or United States:
-
If you’re an American citizen living in Europe, join Democrats Abroad. GO HERE. Not only do they provide information on the US; they also help people on-the-ground get involved in local and regional politics.
-
Wherever you live, GET INVOLVED IN LOCAL AND REGIONAL POLITICS. Europe is not a monolith, but every country holds elections. Examine every candidate. Meet them if you can. Ask them hard questions. And vote at every opportunity.
-
Fighting Europe’s far-right is a DAILY job. It’s easy to forget EU elections, because they don’t operate on a corrupt slog of constant campaigning. But reaching out to elected officials; letting them know about insidious Christian Nationalist bills and policies; and alerting them to far-right activity in your area isn’t confined to election seasons. If enough of their constituents take Heritage and other fascist groups seriously, politicians will take them seriously, too.
-
Don’t forget young voters. Europe’s far-right is heavily focused on young people. As of this writing, no EU counter exists to the far-right’s investment in indoctrinating young people. THIS IS A CRISIS. If you’re a European who works with young people and/or knows how to organize, you can help form vibrant anti-far-right engines, led by young people, that speak to the needs and concerns of young people.
-
Find out about Heritage and other far-right meetings and disrupt them. This will mean following far-right parties in your region to make note of events, private gatherings, or scheduled meetings with Heritage and their surrogates. Heritage operates under-the-radar. Don’t let them. Protests will draw more continent-wide attention to these little-publicized meetings.
-
Talk about this unholy union of US Christian Nationalists and the EU far-right in your communities. Make your connections aware of this problem by sharing various links in this newsletter or by encouraging them to read this newsletter. Let your words and actions to alert everyone you know be sunshine that can act as a disinfectant.

The Politico piece focuses on the EU, but Heritage is also a massive problem in the UK. Nigel Farage first spoke at Heritage in 2015. His goals have long gone beyond Brexit. See this 2015 expose on his Christian Nationalism from the UK’s National Secular Society.
In the coming months, I plan to do more to highlight the goals of Christian Nationalism on the world stage. If you’re a UK or EU-based reader and see something you want me to cover, send me a message. I want to do everything I can to help people fight Christian Nationalism wherever they are.
To enable EU-based readers to share this information more effectively, I have translated this newsletter into various EU languages where I have subscribers. If I missed your country, let me know and I’ll update this newsletter with a downloadable translation.
